Lead Teacher & Educational Strategist
Susan comes to KSPE with more than 30 years of experience in education. She has been a classroom teacher, a district staff developer and a consultant.
Susan is a parent of two and a grandmother of three. All of them live in Florida, where Susan and her husband spend their off time. Susan and David have been married for 25 years and moved from Florida to East Tennessee six years ago. When she’s not in the classroom guiding students to their greatest potential, Susan loves to garden, fish and read.
Emmeline is a student at University of Tennessee. Her major is history, and her eventual goal is to obtain a Ph.D. in her discipline. She comes from a family of teachers, and her easy-going but direct teaching style, as well as her outstanding basketball skills, make her a beloved member of the KSPE teaching staff.
Kim provides consulting on matters of curriculum, faculty/staff training, and literacy-based educational strategies. She has a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in literacy and is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Since 2001, she has had experience teaching and developing curriculum for students in first through eighth grades in a variety of school settings.
